Zurich, Switzerland – Ohhhh Stew!

Zurich is absolutely gorgeous. It is the largest city in Switzerland, home to many financial institutes.

Jarred and I drove down to pick up my cousin, Adam who flew in from Dallas, TX. We were only there for the day/night because his brother, Michael was flying in from Houston,TX and we were off to Interlaken. It was a good ol’ family reunion and Jarred would be there to experience our shenanigans first hand. Awesomeness.. how you say.. runs in the blood? 😉

We cruised the city that was surrounded by water and plush greenery. Even though it was extraordinarily hot, there were large drinking fountains throughout the city. You might wonder how “clean” is this water, but I will tell you it’s DELICIOUS.

Walking through the city we came across a Sushi Tram. What in the world do they mean by sushi tram? Later on we found out that this tram goes around the city serving you a 3 course meal… on the tram! Whaaaa? We didn’t get to experience it, but that might be one to look forward to next time.

We came across this random gem, Aelpli Bar. Later on I found out if you wanted a true Swiss experience that this was the bar to go to. At the time, it was a random turn-off from the street that looked promising. Their specialty was their Aelpli-milch, a foamy 18% alcoholic drink. I will admit it’s not the most delicious, but do as the Swiss do right?

We came just at the right time as gramma and pop like folk came in and played some jammin’ accordion tunes. It really felt like we were experiencing the authenticity of Swiss life. The atmosphere was great!

Afterward, we came upon a sports bar and played darts for the rest of the night. We even challenged the English bartender, Stew, who basically rocked our socks off. It wasn’t even a challenge. It was a domination. We knew he’d be good… but that good? Okay, yes, he pulled out his own darts. How many times does this guy get challenged? Obviously, a lot.

Here's Stew... the best dart player we've ever seen.

To no dismay, we had a blast for our 24 hour Zurich stint. Zurich definitely left a great impression with its beauty and friendly atmosphere.
