Reunited with my 2 cousins and Jarred as our tour guide, we cruised down to Interlaken, Switzerland. This amazing getaway lies between Lake Thun and Lake Brienze with the view of three mountains, Elger, Monch and Jungrau. Everything in Interlaken was booked because of the Trucker Festival. I’ll get to that in another blog. 😉 So we stayed in the next town about 10 minutes away called, Wilderswil.
Interlaken is an outdoorsman’s heaven. You can go paragliding, bungee jumping, ice climbing, river rafting, canyoning, sky diving, mountain biking, and even horse back riding. We booked river rafting and canyoning (more pics will be featured in the upcoming blogs) with Alpin Raft and we were more than satisfied with the service.
The company was amazing. They offer to pick you up at your hotel and drop you off also. They’re a lively group of workers which works perfectly in that environment. Their energy was high, personalities were great, and we felt safe with our lives in their hands. When you were done or waiting for your activities, their property had a pool, slide, tight-rope walking, and a caged soccer field you could chill at.
When we were done with our activity, we came back to base with a free beer and a taste of cheese waiting for us. At the end of our rafting trip I was also reunited with an old friend from Australia, Jenny. She studied abroad at Cal Poly and now works in Murren, about an hour away from Interlaken. After all these years we were brought together again for a quick 24-hour run down memory lane.
If ever in this glorious town, which I definitely want to go back to, I highly recommend going with Alpin Raft for any of your outdoor adventures. You’ll meet some great people in your group and not to mention the workers are fun, wild, and even a bit crazy. I also suggest doing the Grimsel Canyoning because it’s 6 hours of pure hilarity! Other than that, I can’t wait to go back and experience the other adventures they offer.
