F/A-18s in My Face.

This was probably one of the best perks about being a fighter pilot’s wife. We’ll never get to fly in their jets, but this is as good as it gets. The time they bounce.

Bouncing is when they do touch-and-goes getting them ready to land on the boat. Practice is critical since the landing area on a moving carrier is much different than an airfield. I missed out on the first session my husband was in due to timing conflicts, but my two friends and I had the opportunity to go to the second session.

You’re probably wondering how close could they really get. I was incredibly surprised of the actual distance we could stand at. Check out the pictures and you’ll get a good idea of how close we are. Enjoy! I certainly did! =)
